Scott’s passion for the hospitality industry debuts in middle school through the mandatory French “discovery internship” in one of the most legendary hotel the world has to offer, La Mamounia in the heart of Marrakesh. Growing up in the red city enabled Scott to be in the core of a fast changing city, devoted to tourism in general.
Graduating with honors from a high school diploma in Economics, Scott then moved to Paris to start a Bachelor’s degree at Vatel Business School specialized in Hotel & Tourism management. Throughout his degree Scott not only learned the theoretical foundations of the Hospitality industry in general, he also put in application what he learned in the classroom through internships. His first internship was in Food & Beverage at the Plaza Athénée in Paris at the famous Alain Ducasse 3 Michelin Stars restaurant. This experience taught Scott the rigor and the bases of Food & Beverage in a high standing establishment. For his second internship Scott had the opportunity of taking part in the pre-opening of the Park Hyatt Aviara in San Diego California as a Food & Beverage supervisor.
After graduating from his bachelor’s degree Scott wanted to discover the hidden side of hotel management, also known as the “back-of the house”. Scott was selected by Accor and Sofitel to be the first Sofitel School of Excellence candidate, a fast-track management training for young potentials. Scott was sent to the Middle-East, more precisely in the booming city that is Dubai, at the Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach. This experience empowered Scott to discover in more depth all departments of a hotel and to specialize in his field of expertise; Revenue Management.
Throughout his time spent in Dubai, Scott also prepared his entry exams for an MBA (IMHI) at ESSEC Business School in Paris. Accor holds a lot of importance in keeping its talents, for that reason, the company offered Scott the opportunity to continue his adventure with the group whilst studying at ESSEC. As part of a work study program (apprenticeship), for two years Scott held the position of Special Project Manager for the Sofitel Worldwide organization in Sales and Marketing. These two years enabled Scott to put into application everything learned at ESSEC into the corporate world. Acting as an internal consultant and reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Scott’s key missions at Sofitel were to optimize processes and performance within the global organization.
Graduating within the top students of his promotions at ESSEC and successfully achieving his missions and objectives at the Accor Headquarters, the group then offered him the opportunity to discover a new continent. As part of the group’s complete reorganization, Scott is now acting as Special Project Manager for Global Marketing, Luxury and Upscale Brands based in Singapore. He is responsible for planning, performance, processes, integration, implementation and insights across this new organization.
Scott’s endeavor for success and his passion for the hospitality filed have made him a rising talent within the Accor Group.
