MELIA HOTELS - Video mapping ATRIUM at ME London hotel

VIDEO MAPPING ATRIUM, at ME LONDON hotel: a permanent mapping installation at a 5 star hotel, designed by Norman Foster, that every day broadcasts 7 daily mapping shows with audio designs in the pyramid of the lobby.

This high impact design space with custom made seating and complimentary refreshments acts a calm and relaxing area for guests to check in. The skylight above is located in the roof top bar and restaurant. The internal structure is 30 ft high and clad in Carrara marble.

As part of the check in procedure guests are introduced to their AURA manager - a personalised assistant offering a tailored service designed to accommodate each guest’s experience including in room mood lighting, music, room scents, a choice of pillows and any further requirements from booking theatre tickets, to a table at one of London’s hottest restaurants.

The featured light installation was created by local design company Blow Factory in collaboration with the architects; guests are invited to attend an early evening’ light show’ and for a drink hosted by the Hotel/Aura Manager Blow factory turns our reception into a unique place of movement and life, where experiences, emotions and relations are mixed, by using visual architecture mapping technology to dress the walls.

This is achieved by projecting images and animations to complete the ambience in constant evolution. The daily projections come from nature, elements, physics and geometric shapes, the daily projection will transmit a trip through two subjects; universe and creation, synchronised to an orchestral audio.

Blowfactory will be turned on each day by the Aura Manager or the AFO Managers at five pm till 10pm. With a eight minute showing each evening at 8pm. ‘Trip from the creation of the universe to the universe of creation. This is a daily 8 minute story of 3 acts to create an emotional intense and visual experience to express life and creation by travelling through the universe.
