Plantation Restaurant & Terrace is famed for its unique Art & Dine concept, fusing fine food with art.
The Art & Dine concept was developed and implemented to offer guests the opportunity to dine amidst curated exhibitions from world-renowned and emerging international and local artists round-the-clock with choices from the cassolettes inspired menu, extensive beverage list and 24-hour à la carte breakfast.

In tandem with major governmental initiatives Dubai increasingly invested in Artover recent years. Meeting the demand of expatriates who prefer artistic experiences, Art & Dine contributes to the development of the art scene. Statistically the modern traveller searches for more than just ticking the box of landmarks to visit or popular restaurants to dine in.
In the midst of changing the interiors from a lounge to a restaurant, the first exhibition aided in enhancing the ambience of Plantation. The successful launch attracted organisations and artists to partner in future projects and brought popular artists and writers to Dubai for the first time. The layout of the venue lends itself to create a gallery feel. The cassolettes inspired menu was launched at the same time. Plantation became the first restaurant in United Arab Emirates (UAE) to offer such a variety of cassolettes. Few months later the All Day Breakfast promotion was introduced. An initiative that was rolled out to suit the preferences of in-house guests and residents with highly diverse schedules that span all hours of the day. The hotel being located within one of the most popular tourist areas in Dubai gives opportunity to visitors to the Emirate to attend our exhibitions and events.
Plantation played host to the Sofitel worldwide event Sofitel Café Littéraire and held an exclusive book reading with the popular French author and TV journalist Patrick de Carolis.
Famous French artists exhibited for the first time in Dubai like Didier Naert with “Paris Vintage. Imaginary Extensions”, “Women From Here and Elsewhere” by Annik le Page, Claude Guenard with “Gold Up” especially created for UAE.
Time Out Dubai evaluated the exhibition 'Arctic Sentinels' by French photojournalist Nicolas Mingasson as one of the most powerful exhibitions in 2015.
The Inaugural Exhibition of the International Emerging Artist Award and “Shadows of Ramadan” by Bassam Al Selawi and Maysoon Masalha both raised awareness of local creativity.

Home of many cultural and social events this is the venue of choice for Alliance Française, Dubai International Writers’ Centre with Sofitel Readers Majlis and Dubai Madame magazine including book signing for “Perles des Émirats” by Kyra Dupont and embroidery workshops by the renowned Elizabeth Rolleau.
The exhibition “REVEALED” featuring 30 photographs from the collection of Paris Match including pictures of Picasso, Salvador Dali, Jeff Koons and other striking images will take place from end of October for 2 months.
Le Cercle des Parfaits de Nuits-Saint-Georges will take place in Dubai for the first time. Plantation Restaurant & Terrace was chosen as the venue for this event that contributes to the unique experiences offered to guests in terms of beverages, cuisine and art.
The culinary selection features healthy, nourishing and authentic food prepared in cast iron pots known in France as “Cassolette” or “Cocotte”, offering flavours reminiscent of slow cooked meals at home. Mediterranean and European textures and tastes can be explored for lunch or dinner within an indoor or al fresco setting. The cassolette menu comprises several varieties from the land with meat, poultry and cheese dishes, from the sea with fish and shellfish alongside vegetarian fare including pasta. Accompanying the cassolettes stars, the menu includes starters that range from oysters to homemade foie gras terrine, hearty salads, soups and delicious desserts.
A generous à la carte breakfast is available 24 hours, seven days a week in addition to the regular buffet breakfast served at the other hotel restaurant.The three options include the ‘Fry-up’, ‘Oriental’ and ‘Wellness’.
Plantation Restaurant & Terrace now features Seafood & Art night every Thursday. A befitting amalgamation of dining on a delectable selection of maritime favourites and personalised service whilst surrounded by art.
The décor in Plantation is in shades of earthy colours from the solid walnut floor to the traditional ceiling fans and large linen pendant lights suspended from the conservatory-style roof. Deep comfortable loungers on the outdoor terrace create an inviting and laid-back atmosphere where shisha can also be enjoyed.
