The project:

Guided by its founder’s values, IHCL aims to create a more humane and inclusive society while maintaining its legacy as a socially responsible business. Committed to "Giving Back to Society," IHCL focuses on skilling underprivileged youth, promoting social inclusion, and supporting low-income groups, artisans, women, and differently-abled individuals within its workforce and value chains.

Under the "PAATHYA" initiative, IHCL drives sustainability and social impact. Key efforts include:

  • Skilling Programs: IHCL has trained and certified over 15,000 underprivileged youth and indirectly supported over 100,000 through capacity building, offering training content, classroom design, faculty development, and on-the-job training.
  • Livelihood Support: IHCL supports micro-enterprises benefiting cancer-affected families, differently-abled individuals, and women, promoting supplier diversity and social inclusion.
  • Heritage Conservation: Partnering with UNESCO, IHCL promotes India’s intangible cultural heritage and native culinary traditions, hosting Tribal Food Fests and supporting Varanasi’s handloom weaving tradition.
  • Community Initiatives: Collaborations include the upkeep of the Gateway of India precinct, Varanasi Ganga Ghat, and the National Railway Museum in Delhi.

IHCL’s efforts align with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Employee volunteering is crucial, with activities like food donations, cleanliness drives, tree planting, and educational sessions, resulting in over 90,000 volunteering hours.

The Taj Public Service Welfare Fund supports disaster-affected individuals, playing a significant role during the COVID-19 pandemic by serving over 4.5 million meals with an approximate spend of 100 Crores INR.

Results & Performance:

  • Youth Training: 15,000+ youth trained and certified.
  • Social Inclusion: 200+ social inclusion vendor partners, generating 420 million INR in business.
  • Volunteering: 30,000+ saplings planted, positively impacting over 100,000 beneficiaries.
