Ciro’s, Deauville’s most iconic seaside restaurant since 1959, has been reimagined in 2023 while preserving its legendary charm. Situated on Deauville's famous boardwalk “Les Planches,” it is a culinary and cultural landmark, frequented by Hollywood stars during the Deauville American Film Festival and political dignitaries during events like the G3 and G8 summits.
Now under the vision of Friedmann and Versace, the restaurant boasts contemporary decor inspired by the sea, 20th-century liners, and the glamour of American cinema. Visitors enter through a revolving door that opens to an artistic space with a painted stormy sky by Antonin Lamoot, leading to a dining area designed to emulate the elegance of a starliner’s cabin. With wrought-iron railings imitating ship ropes and panoramic views of the sea, the space feels like a maritime voyage.
The menu stays true to Ciro’s heritage, offering classic seafood dishes like Sole Meunière, Bouillabaisse, and Fruits de Mer. Among its highlights is the legendary Potage Billy By, a soup created in 1925 for an American patron, which has become a hallmark of French culinary tradition.
The restaurant reopened in July 2024 after nine months of transformation, aligning its offerings with modern luxury while maintaining its festive spirit. This rebirth earned it the Trophée Tradition d’Aujourd’hui 2024, marking its success as a culinary institution blending historical significance with contemporary innovation.
Ciro’s continues to host prestigious events, including the Gala Dinner for the Deauville American Film Festival, reinforcing its status as a destination for gastronomy, glamour, and celebration. This revival positions Ciro’s as not just a restaurant but an immersive experience that pays homage to its storied past while embracing a vibrant future.
