This award recognizes exceptional actions in the field of social responsibility, including diversity, inclusion and governance that have positively impacted the community, local populations, employees, and/or tourists as well as business sites in the hospitality industry. The winning action or program will have demonstrated a deep commitment to social responsibility and governance through innovative initiatives, effective management practices, and measurable outcomes that have positively impacted stakeholders. This award recognizes programs that have made significant contributions towards creating a more inclusive, equitable, and responsible industry.
The project:
At Radisson Blu Royal Astorija Hotel, we believe that every moment, every guest, and every experience is significant. In light of the Ukraine war, we launched the “Every Child Matters” initiative to support those affected.
On March 3, 2022, we welcomed 33 refugees from Kharkiv, Ukraine, including children, their mothers, and teachers. We provided them with accommodation, meals, entertainment, and educational kits until April 21, 2022.
In Vilnius, we supported the establishment of a school for Ukrainian children by donating furniture from 60 of our hotel rooms. Additional furniture was given to non-profits like the Red Cross and SOS Children’s Villages, aiding the housing of Ukrainians in Lithuania.
Our efforts aimed to bring comfort and a sense of home to the displaced children. We also contributed to sustainability by donating furniture from our renovation process. Our goal was not to seek publicity but to genuinely make a difference in the lives of those affected.
