The project:

Ezba, launched in November 2023 within Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, is a unique cultural and educational space celebrating Emirati heritage and Bedouin traditions. It focuses on four pillars: history, culture, nature, and experiences. This initiative fosters a deep connection to the region’s rich heritage while promoting sustainability and innovation.

Ezba achieved Platinum Certification under the Green Growth 2050 framework, with over 90% compliance in sustainability standards. Key environmental objectives include solar power generation, waste management, ethical sourcing, and biodiversity preservation. Highlights include composting 9,631 kg of food waste in 2023, a greenhouse and hydroponics system producing fresh ingredients for the resort, and wildlife conservation efforts for species such as sand gazelles and Arabian oryx. The facility is powered by solar energy, uses sustainably sourced materials, and integrates water-efficient practices.

Ezba also serves as a cultural hub, showcasing traditional Emirati crafts and Bedouin lifestyle demonstrations. Guests can explore the ancient Falaj irrigation system, observe falconry and saluki displays, and learn about weaving techniques like Khoos, Sadu, and Burqa. Seasonal events feature local artisans, emphasizing the preservation of the Liwa region’s cultural heritage.

A sanctuary for diverse wildlife, Ezba supports breeding programs for camels, salukis, and endangered species. Collaborative efforts with the Environmental Agency of Abu Dhabi further its conservation mission, including plans to release Arabian oryx into the wild.

The program also integrates educational tours and interactive experiences, welcoming over 1,000 guests in Q4 2024 and generating AED 271,472 in revenue. Ezba exemplifies a harmonious blend of luxury, sustainability, and cultural preservation, making it a standout feature of Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara. Through its efforts, Ezba supports a sustainable future while honoring Emirati traditions.
