The project:

Reveal Talent, launched in 2023 by Accor, is a groundbreaking program aimed at addressing social mobility challenges within the hospitality industry. Designed to empower promising individuals without formal education, the program provides them with the skills, exposure, and mentorship needed to progress into hotel management roles or take on additional responsibilities. This initiative aligns with Accor’s commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion while addressing the broader social issue of limited upward mobility.

The program spans six to twelve months and is tailored to meet participants’ specific needs through three key components: mentoring, cross-industry exposure, and foundational management training. Participants engage in rotations across various departments to gain comprehensive operational insights. They also receive training in leadership, English proficiency, and business fundamentals, preparing them for managerial responsibilities. Additionally, the program leverages existing Accor resources, such as the INSPIRE and BLOOM initiatives, to ensure efficiency and scalability.

The first cohort of Reveal Talent included 372 participants, exceeding the target of 300, with 67% having completed only high school or less. Women comprised 44% of the cohort, reflecting the program’s emphasis on gender diversity. While 6% of participants have already transitioned to management roles, ongoing evaluations will measure the program’s full impact after 18 months.

Reveal Talent has been implemented globally, with regional adaptations ensuring relevance. For instance, language training sessions are offered in Greater China, while Europe and North Africa focus on specialized coaching roles. The program has garnered positive feedback for its inclusivity and innovation, serving as a model for other sectors.

Looking ahead, Accor plans to scale the program to involve all its brands and reach 400 participants in 2024-2025. Reveal Talent exemplifies Accor’s vision of social elevation, empowering individuals to grow within the organization and transforming the hospitality industry’s approach to career development.
