The project:
Sangha Hotels, founded by Muriel Tek Roquejeoffre, blends affordability, authenticity, and well-being, offering urban oases where guests reconnect with themselves, others, and their surroundings. Inspired by her Cambodian heritage and desire for a meaningful lifestyle shift, Muriel created a hotel brand rooted in community and sustainability.
The first Sangha Hotel, established in Toulouse, embodies the brand’s vision. Its design integrates minimalist Asian aesthetics, such as cherry-blossom or jungle-inspired themes, with modern amenities. Local craftsmanship and materials enhance the authenticity of its interiors, curated by designer Sebastien Caron. This approach balances elegance and simplicity, providing guests with a serene, immersive experience.
Sangha Hotels prioritizes well-being, reflected in offerings like guided meditations through a partnership with Soum Meditation and a digital art gallery featuring monthly exhibits by Art Point. The brand also introduced "L’Autre Lieu," a space dedicated to wellness and movement. This facility caters to hotel guests and the local community, offering yoga, Tai Chi, Ayurvedic therapies, and sound journeys, emphasizing mind-body balance.
Community engagement is integral to the Sangha philosophy. Social initiatives, such as herbal tea stations on each floor and the Sangha Bliss social network, encourage connections among guests. Asian culture workshops, including sake tastings and calligraphy, further enrich the guest experience.
Sustainability is at the core of Sangha’s development strategy. As a member of “La Communauté du Coq Vert,” Sangha integrates eco-friendly practices, including BREEAM-certified construction and green operational certifications. Its commitment extends to supporting urban eco-districts like La Cartoucherie in Toulouse.
With plans to expand to ten locations in ten years, Sangha Hotels redefines mid-range hospitality by fostering well-being, inclusivity, and sustainability, making it a transformative brand for conscious urban travelers.
