The project:
Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel, has undergone its most significant transformation since opening in 1913. Reopening in March 2023, this “Grande Dame” now blends heritage with modern luxury, embodying Riviera elegance and the vibrancy of Cannes’ festivals. This renovation marks a milestone for Regent Hotels & Resorts, which joined IHG Hotels & Resorts in 2018.
The two-year renovation, led by architect Richard Lavelle, preserved the historic façade and added two 20,000 square meter wings and luxury residences. French interior designer Tristan Auer reimagined the hotel’s 332 rooms and suites, 72 with sea views, and 37 branded residences, combining careful heritage preservation with bold design. The renovation features exquisite craftsmanship, including paintings, mouldings, and gilding, with a secret garden and large interior patio enhancing the luxurious experience.
The hotel offers a diverse range of experiences, from lively moments on La Croisette to serene escapes in the interior garden. Its dining options include three restaurants, three bars, a Tea Lounge, and a Cigar Lounge. The new 1,800m² Conference Center and the restored Grand Salon provide state-of-the-art event spaces, including the largest hotel ballroom in Cannes.
