Thierry Henrot, General Manager at Sheraton Lisboa Hotel & Spa since 2019, has spearheaded a transformative corporate ethos focused on empowering staff, embracing environmental responsibility, and engaging a wider audience. His leadership has driven significant growth, accolades, and an expanded social media presence, connecting with a diverse community.
Leadership and Achievements:
Henrot has fostered a culture of active engagement, valuing the voices of 156 professionals and leveraging HR and technology to encourage personal growth and career development. This approach earned the hotel the Best Place to Work certification in 2023. Committed to reducing environmental impact, Henrot guided the hotel to achieve the Biosphere Sustainable certification in 2022. He successfully expanded the hotel's clientele to include locals and families by revamping services and outsourcing leisure and entertainment.
Results:
Under his leadership, sales exceeded the budget by 6% in 2022, with a 377% growth rate compared to 2020. Customer satisfaction increased, reflected in a 6.4% rise in Marriott's "Intend to recommend" indicator since 2019 and a 3.5% surge in "Overall team service."
Innovative Strategies:
Henrot promoted transparent communication and participation through follow-up meetings, focus groups, and feedback. He implemented tools like Klipfolio, Niikiis, and Waybook to empower staff and streamline decision-making. Leading the hotel's golden anniversary celebration, he organized a sustainable 50-dish dinner and a mapping projection highlighting sustainability and human generosity. He partnered with local NGOs and initiated programs like "You Eat, We Give!" with The Portuguese Association for Victim Support, while mentoring young talents in the hospitality industry through MyJobGlasses.
