The project:
Tony Vasselin played a pivotal role as Operations Manager during the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games, showcasing Accor’s expertise in managing large-scale hospitality operations. As a Premium Partner of the Games, Accor was tasked with overseeing the Athletes and Media Villages, the largest temporary hotels globally. This ambitious project involved managing 700 staff and providing seamless hospitality services to thousands of residents.
In the Athletes Village, Tony oversaw operations across 71 buildings comprising 3,000 apartments and 14,500 beds. Services included managing resident centers, housekeeping, and linen supply, with over 39,000 sheets and towels prepared. The village accommodated 14,300 Olympic athletes and 9,200 Paralympic athletes, ensuring their needs were met efficiently during their stay.
Similarly, in the Media Villages, Tony managed 23 buildings with 1,000 apartments and 1,600 beds, hosting 1,582 media professionals and technicians. Key services included check-in/check-out operations, breakfast management (serving 100,000 meals), and housekeeping.
Tony's leadership was instrumental in coordinating these operations, ensuring a high standard of service despite the scale and complexity. His prior experience as a seasoned Accor General Manager enabled him to address logistical challenges, optimize resources, and maintain operational excellence.
